The Carving Ritual

A ritual dedicated to imbuing a Jack O’ Lantern with the spirit of All Hallows’ Eve. 

You will need:

-a pumpkin

-a knife (or preferred carving materials)

-a candle

Pick a pumpkin free of bruising,

And carve a face of your choosing.

Through the carving with the knife

For Halloween, give this pumpkin life!

Once you’re ready for the candlelight,

Place it in and recite:

“All Hallows’ Eve, ‘tis indeed,

I’ve stripped this pumpkin of gut and seed!

To carve a face to scare away harm,

So this pumpkin lives, by this charm!”

Place the Jack O’ Lantern by your door

To ward off misfortune, illness, and more.

Keep the pumpkin in your domain

To invoke the spirit of Samhain!
